Dawn of The Bone Prophet

Yay! It’s (finally) Samhain!

You might know it better as Halloween or All Hallow’s Eve. No matter what you call it, it’s still the best day of the year for me. Samhain also happens to be my New Year’s Eve. So tomorrow, November first, be the very start of my new year. To celebrate the occasion, I’m having a sale on The AEON Files. You can get the whole series so far for just half the price. All you have to do is use these coupon codes:

The Demon Within – FT95Y
The Lycan Pharaoh – LT82V
The Lullaby Shriek – ET28U

November first is also the first day of NaNoWriMo. If you’ve been following me on this blog or on Facebook, you’ll know that this year’s challenge will be to write The Bone Prophet (The AEON Files, #4). Completing this case in the series would mean I wrote two books this year alone! Quite an achievement when you consider my first book took me over a decade to finish.

If you would like to follow my progress or cheer me on, stop by my NaNo Profile or — better yet — my Facebook Page (PSST! You’ll get snippets from the book as I’m writing it!).

And now for a funny, little story about creating The Bone Prophet… so far.

I’m a outliner; meaning I outline my stories from start to finish. I get really into detail in these outlines, and include such things as the time and setting, where characters are located (I draw quick maps),  names, definitions, a history of what happened to a specific person, and a whole lot more. Anyway,  I had finished the outline for The Bone Prophet two weeks ago, and was reviewing it while I prepped for NaNoWriMo.

Last night, I was filling in the novel info on my NaNo Profile, and came up with the book blurb (that’s the description on the back). Because of the blurb, I had to alter my outline a bit. There’s going to be more characters and chapters than I had originally planned. Not really a big deal since I haven’t written anything yet, but it will make the story more interesting.

Here’s the blurb as it is now:

When the mysterious Shadow-Fire Cross suddenly returns after weeks of laying low, AEON Agent Cybil “Jinx” Starr knows that sometimes a good girl has to be bad. And keeping his secret could make her wind up in AEON’s prison — or worse: dead. But that’s the least of her problems.

Between a peculiar bombing, profound murders, and winning lottery tickets, AEON is left chasing their tails. The pressure is on Jinx and her still-developing psychic powers to find the connection to the crimes. No matter how hard she tries, the vicious killer always seems to be one step ahead. How can Jinx possibly hope to out-prophet the Prophet?

Well, that’s all for today. Here’s hoping you have a safe and happy Samhain!
