Lots to cover today, so…
Lets get started.
First things first:
I’ve had a busy past couple of months. With several art commissions filled, two website designs (mine and Longshots‘) completed, and a pair of hyper puppies to supervise, I’ve had little time for any real writing.
That’s why I’m looking forward to next month.
The April edition of Camp NaNoWriMo kicks off tomorrow. As much as I look forward to 30 days of writing, chances are I’m going to be interrupted so much (by puppies and parents) that I won’t reach the goal of 50,000 words.
Then again, I might surprise myself and shatter the goal. Again.
And in other news:
My website is back up and looking gorgeous in it’s new color scheme of turquoise and magenta. Don’t take my word for it; go take a peek.
Unfortunately, there’s still a little work to do in my new online shop, now called the Phantom Bazaar. It’s not much; mostly just adding in the books and some minor details.
Speaking of my books… if you mouse over the NOVELS link of my website, and click on The AEON Files, you’ll be treated with every title of the series. This includes the four already released, the two sequels already announced (Sovereign Flame and Grimm Kin), The Tainted Soul, and the other eighteen (yes, I said 18!). Don’t believe me? Take a look!
(It’s the same if you look under the Dragon Diaries section (though this series only goes up to eight books).)
I’ve made a little, bonus surprise to TAF as well. It’s called:
W.E.I.R.D. Chronicles are short tales that work to fill in the gaps between AEON novels. The first issue is free for anyone who signs up for Otherworlder membership (but it’s still in production, so please give it a little time).
Another new feature that’s recently been added is the text club. It gets the same benefits as the main Otherworlder members, but they receive major updates via text message. The fastest way to join is to just text SIRD to 31996, but then you’d miss out on all the email goodies.
And then there’s…
Some interesting news: I was mailed a publishing contract.
No, don’t cheer (Seriously).
See, I queried Austin Macauley Publishing a while back. While they liked what I sent, they didn’t want to do a traditional deal due to “risk”. Instead, they want me to pay them $3100 to publish me (for those who don’t know, this is referred to as “Vanity Publishing,” and it’s usually a ripoff (it’s 1000 times better to self-publish)).
Needless to say, I said NOPE!
So I’m still looking for representation, but I’m really hoping the latest publisher I contacted will have some good news. I just have to wait until the 9th…
Now, if only we can get rid of all this snow……..
(EDIT: changed the name of WEIRD)
